Time to Play
As many of you may already know, or some may come to find out, I have a purpose behind EVERYTHING that I do! It usually pertains to learning, 95% of the time! We had a blast with the youth group this past Sunday at Sky High sports. Dodgeball, as always, was a big hit. All the youth were left tired, thirsty, and very sweaty!
Some people look forward to the fun activities in youth group, but what's the real purpose?
Let's take a few steps back and think about the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. When we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, God now lives in us. Ok, so I'm taking you back to Sunday School class, stay with me for a little bit. After receiving the Holy Spirit through baptism, may people refer to their body's as a temple, because God now lives in them. If our body's our temples, then we should take care of them and respect them. So how do we do that? We eat healthy (lay off the hot fries and Takis) and we could stay active.
That brings us back to Sky High sports. By attending outings that require some physical activity, we are taking care of our temples where the Holy Spirit lives. UHhggg - Yes, I got spiritual on all of you! Think about how good that must feel!
Participating in sports - taking care of your temple.
Bike riding - taking care of your temple.
Kayaking - taking care of your temple.
Running - taking care of your temple.
Roller blading - taking care of your temple.
I think you get the point! Many of these activities can be done with your family and friends. Looking for a reason to go outside with your friends?? Tell you parents "Mom/Dad, Can I go ride my bike? I need to take care of my temple!!"
Have a blessed week!
