Human Game Board
This past week we had a blast playing with a Human Game board. The premises, a life size board game laid out on the floor, “people” are the game pieces, and a dice the size of a medium packing box. For our game board, we did Bible Trivia. Why is it important to know about Bible trivia? Some would say it’s just memorization of facts. Ok, maybe some of that is true, but let’s consider the Easter season that just past. We see in the book of Acts, after Jesus’ resurrection, his disciples went out to evangelize to others, spreading the gospel for all to hear. I’m not calling for our youth to drop of school or have their college track be as a missionary (though if you want to - I’ll support you)! I would like you to consider a question Pastor David asked of us on Easter Sunday: paraphrased - After Easter, what are you wearing? We’re not referring to our clothing, but our spirit, our demeanor, our attitude, and even our Love towards Christ. How we present ourselves to other is part of our light that shines. When our light radiates to others, wouldn’t you want to be prepared is someone approached us? This is where our Bible trivia comes in. If we haven’t built up on knowledge of biblical teachings and understanding of God’s love, how can we possibly share that with others? It’s not a matter of having to be a missionary, but when other’s approach us!
Someone comes up to you and asks where does your Joy come from? How would you answer?
A friend approaches you and asks what’s this ‘church’ thing that you do and why? How would you answer them?
A classmate asks what’s so important about Christmas and Easter? How would you answer them?
Having a solid foundation of God’s word helps us minister to people. Many times as Christian’s this happens when others approach us and not when we are seeking out others.
May the word of God bless you in the upcoming days and provide you with peace, wisdom, and guidance wherever life may bring you.
